Babies born asymptomatic can develop these abnormalities later in life. Widespread vaccination significantly reduced the incidence of rubella in all age groups. However, 10-20% of young people still appear to be exposed to the virus. To reduce the risk of serious complications, accurate serological methods should be used to determine the serological status of pregnant women in old age. The compound migrates upward on the membrane by capillary action and reacts with the specific rubella antigen on the membrane in the test line area. The presence of this colored line on the test area indicates a positive result for Rubella infection, while its absence indicates a negative result for that infection. As a procedural control, a colored line always appears in the control line region, indicating that the correct volume of sample has been used and that the membrane has been soaked.
