The Sars-CoV-2 Antigen Rapid Test (Swab) is a rapid chromatographic immunoassay for the qualitative detection of antigens of the nucleocapsid protein Sars-CoV -2 in the swab specimen of individuals with suspected SARS-CoV-2 infection in combination with clinical presentation and other laboratory test results. The results refer to the detection of the Sars-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein Antigens. The antigen is generally found in swabs of the upper respiratory tract during the acute phase of the infection. Positive results indicate the presence of viral antigens, but a clinical correlation with the patient’s medical history and other diagnostic information is required to determine the infectious state. The positive results do not exclude bacterial infection or co-infections with other viruses. The identified agent may not be the determining cause of the disease.
